Vikas Khurana, MD, MBA

Dr Khurana did his medical school from Maulana Azad Medical College in India, his residency in Internal Medicine from State University of New York at Brooklyn, New York and his Gastroenterology fellowship from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Florida. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a former Associate Professor of Medicine at Temple University, PA and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Computer Sciences at Louisiana State University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Khurana is a rare breed of clinician and researchers who continues to practice medicine and has rich clinical experience in treating gastro-intestinal ailments. He has taught and trained doctors in the field of gastroenterology at academic medical centers.

His first research award was in 1991 when he was in medical school and since then has received multiple research awards including the American College of Gastroenterology, National Governor’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Research.  He has presented his research at national meetings in various societies including the ACG, AGA and AASLD. At Wharton, Dr Khurana received the Snider Seed Award for his project in healthcare. His research work has been cited in Wall Street Journal, Forbes and USA today.  He has Supervised NIH and National VA studies and has numerous scientific journal articles, review articles and scientific presentations to his credit.  Dr. Khurana’s work has also been included in interviews on CNN, ABC and NBC.

Dr Khurana has been elected to several prestigious societies including Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society and the Bokus International Gastroenterological Society. He was elected as a Fellow of American college of Gastroenterology (FACG), and a Fellow of the American college of Physicians (FACP).
